Who you are contracting with
Rental Return is operated by Rental Return ("we", "us", "the seller"). These Terms of Service form the agreement between you and Rental Return. You confirm that you are of legal age to enter this agreement, or that you have authority to bind the organisation you represent.
Agreement to terms
By accessing or using Rental Return ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What the app does
Rental Return helps users create timestamped, GPS-tagged documentation of a rental car's condition at pickup and return. This includes photos, video, audio notes, mileage, fuel level, and location data. The app is intended for personal record-keeping and dispute protection, not as legal advice or a substitute for a rental company's own inspection process.
Your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and account credentials secure.
- You may not share your account or use another person's account without permission.
User content
You retain ownership of the photos, videos, audio, and notes you create. By uploading content to the app, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely so we can provide the service to you. We do not sell or license your content to third parties.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for unlawful, fraudulent, or harassing purposes.
- Upload content that infringes someone else's rights or privacy.
- Attempt to access another user's records or bypass security controls.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the app or its infrastructure.
Intellectual property
Rental Return retains all ownership and intellectual property rights in the app, including its software, design, documentation and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app within the plan you have selected. You may not resell or redistribute the app, circumvent technical limits, or reverse engineer any part of it.
Subscriptions, payments and refunds
Rental Return offers free and paid (Pro) features. Pro is a monthly subscription billed at the price shown at checkout and renews automatically until cancelled.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee — see our Refund Policy.
Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, and we do not guarantee that a report will be accepted by a rental company, insurer, or court. You are responsible for reviewing your records for accuracy before relying on them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rental Return and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, or disputes with rental companies.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations, or where required by law. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us; deletion will remove your records and media from our systems.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service as the app changes. We will update the "Last updated" date when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
